Registrar of Deeds Pretoria: Notice to Conveyancers

The President has announced that the Country will be in Lockdown. To mitigate the effects of the Lockdown the Pretoria Deeds Office will implement the following measures.

The Registrar Pretoria and Management have taken to register as many matters currently in the system. Preference will be given to matters in the system for longer than 4 days and where Clearances expire. An urgent request is made not to lodge new matters as it will only clog the system further. Examiners will be asked to assist with examination of matters in the system already. The Deeds Office Pretoria will remain open and register on Thursday to assist us. Special arrangements regarding putting forward are in place. The various Property Committees are in discussion with the Chief Registrar regarding the potential closure of the Deeds Offices.

We will keep you informed of any developments and you are thus requested to refrain from making unnecessary individual calls and discussions with the officials. This will only contribute to more congestion in the system. Please also ask you prep clerks in the Deeds Offices to cooperate fully with the Management and staff in the Deeds offices.
